Production Paint Jobs
over 2 years ago – Sat, Jul 31, 2021 at 12:36:54 PM

Hi Everyone!

Hope you are all staying safe out there. It looks like we are not completely out of the woods yet with Covid. One of our team and his family got Covid a few weeks ago, but luckily they are better now, It was a bit of scare.

Going to make this a quick update showing a couple photos of the finished production paint jobs for the Niche, Mortuary, and Dwarven walls. Also the finished Dwarven door.

We will post another update this coming week showing a larger build, along with the finished Demon and Dwarven Column paint jobs.

We are not ready to give an update shipping date just yet. Once we have a better grip on how much longer the remaining molds will take, we will give a shipping date. The plan is still the same, we will be shipping out International orders first, then the wave 2 US orders.

Thanks

Dwarven, Niche, Mortuary Walls
almost 3 years ago – Wed, Jul 07, 2021 at 01:40:08 PM

Hi Everyone,

Sorry for not posting an update sooner.

We have been cranking away on the molds and have had to divert most of our time to focusing on the designs for the more complex molds.  This took me away from working on the paint jobs for these new walls.

Tonight I leave you with a short update showing a photo of the unpainted Dwarven, Niche, & Mortuary walls. We just finished painting all of the Fine Stone A, Arch, BA walls, and are making a couple tweaks to these before the production paint starts on Thursday. I will post another update this week showing all of these walls with the Fine Stone A wall and Arch wall with full production paint.

We will be finalized with the Dwarven & Demon Column paint jobs next week, and will have photos to post.

Thanks

Current KS Progress and LED Wall!
almost 3 years ago – Sun, May 30, 2021 at 12:18:04 AM

Hi Backers,

May 28th was our estimated date to be completed and moving into shipping, we were not able to hit that mark. We left the more complex molds for last, giving us the ability to learn and get better with the less complex ones. This past month and a half was a kick in the butt, as we realized how much longer it took to design and cut the more complex molds. We got a lot finished, but still have 10 pieces to make, which translates to 14-20 molds as some are multi piece molds. In the past 2 months we finished making 17 pieces from designing, cutting, then shooting. Of those 17 pieces 6 of them were multi pieces molds, meaning we made 23 molds.  Once the molds are completed, we will then shoot the parts and paint them.

We do not have an exact ship date at this point, because we do not want to give you a date and be wrong again. We do know that it will be finished and shipped this summer. So hoping for mid to end of July at the latest.

We are as tired of the delays, and we know all of you are.  We cannot wait to check this off and move on to the next chapter of AOD.  Lots of the funding along with investing our own money has gone to infrastructure to manufacture the product.  That along with the Pandemic has made it hard to add more people to our team,  to help move it along faster.

Things will be completely different on our next KS, because we now own the equipment and have the process down. The funding from our next KS will go to labor, supplies, and shipping. That means we will be able to add more people to our team and get things made much faster. We will be adding an additional mold designer and CNC operator.

Sorry for the additional delay, I know its been old.

On the next update we will be showing the Niche, Mortuary, and Dwarven walls, completed with their production paint jobs.

LED wall Progress

The LED wall has passed the prototype stage and has moved into designing the mold.  We will have the final production order of PCBs in about 10-12 days, then we will solder on the components in house. Here is a video and a photo of the 3D printed prototype LED wall with the final PCB installed. As you can see the button to turn the LED on and off is hidden in a stone. To change the battery you just take off the cap and the battery is right there. You could also take apart the wall if you wanted to pull out the PCB. We went with a 1632 coin battery so that it would fit in the wall. Those batteries are inexpensive to buy when you need to replace them. You can buy them for around 5-8 cents a pieces on Ebay.

Please hang in there, we are move forward and progressing as fast as we can.

LED PCB Board & Wave 2 Final Pieces
almost 3 years ago – Fri, May 21, 2021 at 02:57:57 AM

Hi Backers,

Hope everyone is doing well, we are working our butts off trying to wrap this KS up. We have made a lot of head way, but still have a bit more to be completed. There is a lot going on for a very small team, this last few weeks my main focus has been the LED PCB.

We designed a simple PCB circuit for the LED wall. This will insert into our A walls to allow us to put LED lights is many different walls in the future. This is revision 2, we have the final revision on its way to us. That final version adds a 2mm spacer to the LED light to bring it out a little further and gets rid of a resistor that we decided was not needed. Once we have the final we will post another updated showing a video of it in action. We are currently sculpting some changes to the LED wall to fit this PCB and to create the button that will turn the light on and off. The button will not be visible, it will be part of the wall. That way you do not see a switch sticking out of the stone.  We will start cutting this mold once the sculpting and fit test are completed. Here is the a photo of revision 2 (not the final version)

Stay tuned for another update showing this in the LED wall and working!

Here is photo of the Skull Wall Production Paint Job.

Here are some photos of the rest of the columns fresh off of the injection molding machine. We are working on the paint jobs for these now, and will show them again after they are painted. Both the Demon and Dwarven Column have been modified to swivel just like the main stone column. That way you can use them as either L, I, or O columns, this really increases the usability of these columns

Stay tuned for  updates showing more of the paint jobs. We are almost completed with the molds for the Mortuary, Niche, and Dwarven Wall, we will post photos of them once they are shot.

Low Wall Production Paint Job & Dwarven/Demon Column Molds!
almost 3 years ago – Tue, May 04, 2021 at 09:53:50 AM

Hi Backers,

Here is a photo of the production paint job for the Low A-Wall 2" wide & Low BA-Wall 1-1/2" wide.

Here is a photo of the full height 2" walls stacked on top of the 1" walls. Once we release the stacking caps in a future release, you will be able to swap out some of your caps to pin the top and bottom of walls together.  You could swap out the walls with Arches to make windows, hmm maybe we need to release some stained glass inserts for the arches.

 Reaper Mini for scale reference!

Dwarven & Demon Molds are finished!

Here are a few photos of the sliders in the Dwarven & Demon Molds. We will be shooting these parts this week.  The low column molds are being cut right now, and will be shooting them this weekend.

Sorry for taking longer to post photos of the production paint jobs, we have been making some tweaks and want to make sure we are happy with the finals, before we batch them. The low walls have already been moved to the paint process, all of the BAs are finished, and the As will be finished tomorrow. We will post another update this week showing the Skull Wall & Dwarven door production paint jobs. We have made a few tweaks to those paint jobs, and are just about ready to move them to paint batching.

Thanks
