One Column to Rule Them All! Additional Items, Address updates & Shipping.
about 4 years ago – Fri, Feb 28, 2020 at 02:04:48 AM

Hi Everyone,

One Column to Rule Them All!

Sometimes its the little things that make a big difference. We believe this will make building with Rampage faster and more enjoyable.

Before we start getting asked, yes you will get one of these new columns for everyone one of the I,O, & L columns you had on your order.

CNC Update

We have had some in house instructors come out to get the team familiar with the new machine, and have another class on the 4th. We will then be slowly working our way into make simple to more complex molds. As we make progress we will post about it. The goal of the machine was to set us up for the future, as we knew there is learning that goes along with the purchase, the machines don't run them selves. If we can get a mold or two done for this KS in house in the next month that's a bonus.

Additional Items

We have been messaged by many people asking if they can add more to their orders. Our primary goal here is to get the pledges out since we are already extremely behind on the fulfillment date already. So we have been very hesitant to allow people to add more to their pledges, and accidentally become even more behind.  We have reached out to Backerkit to confirm that it is possible to do, since we keep getting asked. The answer is, we can not unlock pledges that have already been locked, but we can manually add more items to a persons pledge. We would then need to charge them on their existing card that is on file. This can be a long drawn out process, and have decided that its better to leave the orders, the way they are.

Once your items have shipped we will be adding stock to our website, so you can get more at that time. We will also allow backers of the KS to purchase at the same price as the KS for the first couple of months. This should allow the backers that wanted to add more to get what they were looking for, as if they did it from the KS.

Address Updates

Many of you have messaged us with address updates. At the end of March we will be sending out an update from Kickstarter letting you know, that you should be getting an email from Backerkit, saying you have 48 hours to update your address. Please log in and make sure your address is current, if its not update it. This is a much better way of making sure everyone has the correct updated address, Vs us getting private messages with address changes. We want to make sure everyone gets their orders!

Shipping Time Line

As of right now, it looks like its more realistic that we are shooting, painting some, and packing others through out March, and April. This will put us at an end of April or May shipping date, yes we know that is not March!

We are moving as fast as we can with the amount of molds we currently have made. Our mold making team is finishing up the wall molds now, and starting the column molds here locally and in Oregon Rob is working on a variety of smaller pieces.

The good news is we are actually getting closer to being finished!

Stay tuned for the next update, where we will show some finished pieces, and some other modifications, that we think make Rampage even more of a complete building system.

New Wall Design!
about 4 years ago – Sun, Feb 02, 2020 at 02:13:48 AM

What's up everyone!

We are very excited to show you the new wall design, this will allow you to build a larger variety of insane dungeon builds! It will also allow us to release more elevation based pieces in the future due to the stacking abilities on all walls.

Ya I know I didn't look all that excited in the video lol, but I am! I am still getting use to being on camera.

Watch the video to see all the options, it is hard to show the swapables walls in a photo, the video breaks it all down.

(All Pieces in this video & photos are prototype 3D printed. Actual injection molded pieces will have more detail and no layer lines)

Here is a shot of the wall with the standard cap, and a wall with the stacking cap.

Here are the same walls with the caps off.

Here you can see how seamless stacked walls are.

This photo shows wood caps which we will be releasing in the future, the possibilities of different cap types are endless!

The next update will be about the new column features, one last tease before that update.

One Column to Rule them all!!

Parts Samples, Rampage Box Art, and CNC Machine Delivery!
about 4 years ago – Fri, Jan 24, 2020 at 01:59:14 AM

Hi Everyone,

This has been an exciting week!

We received samples of some pieces before they get shoot for approval.

The sample of the Rampage box art arrived.

And last but not least, our CNC Milling Machine was delivered!

Samples

Here is a photo of the following pieces: Crates,Brazier Insert,Flame Insert, Hatch Insert, Skull Insert, and Barrels. They are produced in a temp mold for final inspection before they cut the final mold to shoot the parts. They have been given the go!

Rampage Box Art

The Boxes came out great and we have given them the go to produce the quantity that we need.

CNC Milling Machine

We are super excited to have received delivery of our VF-2SS CNC. Having our own injection molding machine was a game changer for us, allowing us to manufacture in house and have a bit more control of product quantities and restocking needs, BUT we were still 100% dependent of having other companies cut the molds. Now we are able to cut all year round for AOD's projects, which will make mold turn around time extremely fast. We will also be able to experiment and possibly make products that we would normally not be able to afford to have molds made for, due to complexity of the design.  We will continue on the path we are on with ProtoQuick & Bend Molding making molds and able to shoot parts, but we will be adding this in as well to speed up the process.

We will be posting videos of the machine making molds once we are up and cutting on it!

Next update this month will be the long awaited wall update, that are finally finished and inserts are able to be cut.

We also have a little trick up our sleeve with the columns, that will be in the next update as well.

Happy New Year! I Floor, Wall Design, & In House Mold Making!
over 4 years ago – Wed, Jan 01, 2020 at 01:02:46 AM

Hi Everyone,

Happy New Year! Hope everyone is excited to bring in the new year.

I-Floor

Here is a photo of a finished I-Floor clipped into an E-Floor. We will be shooting 4 different versions of the I-Floor one of each quad of the E-Floor, since we have a 4 cavity mold, that way it blends in better.

We are still waiting for the A-Floor mold to be finished, things slowed down a bit with the mold makers in December with a lot of their staff going on vacation. Once we have the A-Floor shoot we will put up a photo.

Wall Design

We have not finished the final wall redesign yet, we have gone back and forth on a few revisions, but are real close to a final product that we feel is an improvement to the overall building functionality of Rampage. The main mold cavity for the walls has already been started by Protoquick, once we finalize the redesign, we can have Ken and his team continue with the master mold. We should be all ready to show the final design and move forward with the mold by the end of next week.

In House mold making

From the beginning we have always toyed around with the idea of making the molds in house. We figured that would be the direction we would eventually go with the company, since we wanted to manufacture locally. Also from the beginning of working with Ken at Protoquick he threw out the idea of us cutting our own molds in house. That would allow them to help us design the molds in CAD, then take those files and cut them our selves. The concept there was to speed up the process of mold making. It also allows us to make more molds with more variations, since machine cutting time would no longer be a financial factor. As we have learned the few shops that are in the US making molds are running at max capacity since its a very small trade in this country. So wait times have ended up much longer then originally discussed.  SO..

We bought our own CNC Milling machine!

We purchased a new Haas VF-2 SS CNC Mill, that should be arriving in the next week or so. They are a California company manufacturing their machines in house, so we will have great support with the machine. We have been working in Fusion 360 in house for a while, and of the last few months really diving into the CAM side of it to create tools paths for molds. Once we are in the swing of cutting molds we will posting videos of the machine in action. We are going to start off by just making smaller molds for this KS in house, while Protoquick and Bend Molding continue to make the larger master molds. In the future we will be able to make it all in house, then farm out to the other guys if we can not keep up. That will allow us to control the mold making pace much better, and keep us ahead of the game. Here is a photo of the machine we bought, I will shoot some video of it being delivered and installed once its here.

E Floors & S Floor
over 4 years ago – Fri, Dec 06, 2019 at 12:50:52 AM

Hi Everyone,

Here is a video showing the completed E Floors, still making a couple of tweaks to some of the paint jobs while mass painting the ones that have been finalized.

Also here is a shot of the S Rough Stone Floor, now that we have the locking component of the mold it will be fast to create different pieces for future releases.

We will have shots of the I & A floors on our next update. We should also have some shots of the Wall mold design, we have been making some engineering design changes to the wall system to make it more versatile for building.

Thanks
